Spaghetti with Hot Italian Turkey Sausage
Savory, spicy Italian turkey sausage atop noodles with a delectable sauce made with sautéed onion, minced garlic and grated Romano cheese. A tasty, classic Italian dinner that’s only 350 calories per serving.

Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 (28-ounce) cans Italian-style plum tomatoes, undrained and coarsely chopped
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
1½ teaspoons dried basil leaves
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1 teaspoon sugar
1 (19-ounce) package JENNIE-O® Lean Hot Italian Turkey Sausage
12 ounces spaghetti, cooked and drained
¼ cup grated Romano cheese, if desired
Directions
STEP 1: Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook onion for five minutes, stirring occasionally. Add Jennie O Make the garlic and cook for two minutes. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, sugar. Bring to a simmer. Simmer, uncovered, 25 to 35 minutes or until sauce is desired consistency.
STEP 2: While sauce is simmering, cook sausage as specified on the package. Always cook to well-done, 165°F as measured by a meat thermometer.
STEP 3: Cut sausage into ½-inch slices and add to sauce. Serve over spaghetti noodles and sprinkle with cheese, if desired.
